Story
Dr Pansy Lam is a seasoned professional with over 30 years of experience in training, development, and research, with a key focus on executive coaching over the past 15 years. Since 1995, she has been lecturing on HR subjects at all academic levels, including communication strategies, organisational development, and talent acquisition.
She pioneered the first Executive Diploma in Corporate Coaching in 2003 and, in collaboration with Oxford Brookes University, launched Asia’s first Master’s in Coaching and Mentoring Practice in 2013.
Dr Lam is an Accredited Coach of Oxford Brookes University and an Accredited Organisational Coach of the Institute of Executive Coaching and Leadership (Australia). She frequently presents at public forums and webinars and was an international speaker at the EMCC’s inaugural APAC conference in 2018.
Her coaching clients include senior executives, managers, social workers, and students. She is active in research, notably publishing “Coaching and Chinese Culture in Hong Kong” (2016) in the International Journal of Evidence-Based Coaching, where she also served as a reviewer.
She sat on the Editorial Board of the Sage Handbook of Coaching (3rd ed., 2017), and authored chapters on “Coaching and Mentoring in Hong Kong” in the 3rd and 4th editions of Coaching and Mentoring: Theory and Practice by Garvey & Stokes.
Pansy holds a BA from the University of Hong Kong, as well as an MSc and PhD from the University of Leicester.
Dr Lam was a board member of the International Coach Federation. She is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (FCIPD), a Fellow of the Hong Kong Institute of Human Resource Management (FHKIHRM).
